ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Jonah Chandler Hansen is the designer and founder of Jean D. Chandler, established in 2019 and named through a combination of his own name and that of his grandmother, his first influence in fashion and the person who introduced him to sewing and craftsmanship.After studying fashion and developing his foundation in sewing at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Hansen continued to shape his perspective through experiences at Oscar de la Renta, assisting Ludovic de Saint Sernin in Paris, and working with Paris Re Made. These experiences deepened his appreciation for craftsmanship while exposing him to different approaches to luxury, sensuality, and contemporary design.Through Jean D. Chandler, Hansen translates personal experiences, emotion, and inner conflict into futuristic garments defined by shape, form, and sensuality. His work challenges conventional ideas of the body and clothing while remaining rooted in an intimate, highly personal design language. With a divine sense of passion behind his work, Hansen strives to inspire, challenge, and empower others to embrace their individuality and move confidently through their own expression.
